US Presidential candidate Ted Cruz's campaign announced on late Thursday that it has pulled down a campaign advertisement featuring an actress who had done stints in pornographic films.
The commercial titled 'Conservatives Anonymous' takes a hit at Florida senator Marco Rubio over illegal immigration where faux voters regret their prior support to Rubio. One of the voters in the advertisement is former adult film actress Amy Lindsay.
After the video was pulled down, Lindsay expressed her displeasure and took to Twitter saying "Extremely disappointed the #TedCruz campaign pulled the national television spot I had a role in..."
Campaign spokesperson Rick Tyler said that she was not vetted by the production company and had responded to an opening casting call. He said, "Unfortunately, she was not vetted by the production company. Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad," Fox News reported.
Lindsay has made an appearance in several movies including Carnal Wishes and Insatiable Desires. She also appeared in the TV series Star Trek: Voyager. She also appeared in the 1996 film adaption of Henry James' The Portrait of a Lady, according to the Internet Movie Database.
