Doom creator shows PC version Mario 3
lacquer for game development studio id Software conquered the world with classic games such as Wolfenstein 3D and Doom, tried to convince the Nintendo company of the release of Super Mario Bros. 3 on the PC instead of only on the NES. From an early demo version are now images have surfaced.
Behind id Software are some of the most technically gifted people who were then active in the game industry. As developer John Carmack and John Romero knew the late 80s for the first time to develop an algorithm that so called 'scrolling' levels in the game are possible, the level neatly with the player meeschuift, so as in Super Mario Bros. This was a level in games divided into "scenes" in which the game character left one screen and appeared on the following.
After making this technique thought the two Johns Nintendo can convince that id the designated studio would be Super Mario Bros. about to turn to the PC, but the Japanese console giant had no ears. The studio then used the technique to his game, Commander Keen.
This story was already known for some years, but John Romero has this week - seemingly from nowhere - images from the PC version of Mario 3 published.
